Awards
Being as environmentally friendly as we can in all our processes has always been important to us and this was recognised when we were only one of four companies to be shortlisted for the Food North West Environmental Sustainability Awards. This in no way means we cut corners when producing our range of luxury preserves, chutneys, relishes and vinegars. In our first year of entering the competition, we've won two Great Taste Gold 1* Awards at the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards 2009 for our Beetroot Chutney with Orange and our Hot Plum Chutney! Top 10 in the Region for Local Food Hero 2009
We have been shortlisted in the top 10 food heroes for our region!
These awards used to be called the UK TV Food Heroes and they've had something of a re-branding but they are just the same and no less important
to producers and outlets throughout the UK. Thank you so much for everyone who made this happen by voting for us.

Food Northwest Awards 2009 for Environmental Sustainability
The Food Northwest Awards 2009 focuused on the theme 'Inspiration and Innovation' The awards acknowledge all areas of the industry from farm to fork, including food retail and service, wholesale distribution, food processing and agriculture.
As a small company we were proud to have our efforts acknowledged by such a prestigious nomination. If every small company is able to improve some of its processes from an environmental perspective we would make a huge impact overall.
Great Taste Gold at the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards
At our first attempt, we have been awarded Great Taste Gold for our Beetroot Chutney with Orange and our Hot Plum Chutney at the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards 2009.
The Great Taste Awards are the benchmark for speciality food and drink. Most of the beetroots and onions are grown at Hesketh Bank and many of the apples are from the old orchards of the Parrox Hall Estate.
The Beetroot Chutney with Orange is really versatile, great with a good blue cheese, goats cheese, feta or even a smoked cheese. Its just as tasty with roast beef.
Our Hot Plum Chutney complements any cheese board and is psiced up by a generous measure of cayenne pepper.
One of only 4 companies shortlisted for the Lancashire Telegraph Small Business of the Year Award 2009
We have been one of only 4 companies shortlisted for the Small Business of the Year award. Not bad considering we supplied to our first deli less than 3 years ago. We've also stuck firmly to our principles of sourcing quality local produce and not cutting corners when creating and cooking our recipes.
