Cranberry Jelly For Christmas!

Our cranberry jelly is now in full production. We've got two great varieties for you to choose from, a Cranberry Jelly simply packed with whole cranberries and a Spiced Cranberry Jelly, full of cranberries and spiced with cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg for a special Christmas taste. Both are great with chicken, turkey or roast pork. For a simple recipe idea, why not core a Bramley Apple, add a couple of generous spoonfuls of our Cranberry Jelly and roast in the juices of the meat... delicious!!

Great Taste Awards

Both our Beetroot Chutney with Orange and Our Hot Plum Chutney were awarded Great Taste Gold 1* at the 2009 Fine Food Awards. Not bad considering this was the first time we entered any products! They both have very versatile flavours. Our customers say they're very addictive too! The Beetroot with Orange is great with a good blue cheese, goats cheese and brie, also good with roast beef or a salad. The hot plum goes well with a tasty or creamy lancashire, all cold meats especially hams and gammon or sausage sandwiches.

Award Winning Fruit Infused Vinegars

Our fruit infused vinegars are fast gaining a popular following for the foodie who loves to cook. Our Blackberry Vinegar won a North West Fine Food award earlier in 2011, the only vinegar we entered into the competition.
They're made by steeping the whole fruit in wine vinegar until the flavour reaches perfection. We have developed our vinegars to have a sweetness similar to balsamic so they can be used drizzled over salads or as a base for a dressing.
We're only just realising how versatile they are. Here are a few cookery tips for you to try!

  • Sprinkle over mediterranean vegetables with some sea salt and a drizzle of rapeseed oil and oven roast.
  • Add a couple of teaspoons to the juices of a roast when deglazing the pan, makes a beautiful gravy.
  • Sprinkle on to pork, duck or steak as a light marinade
  • Presented in 250ml Dorica Bottles, they make great gifts as well as a store cupboard must!

    Mustards and Herb and Spice Sea Salts

    We still just have the one mustard, Wholegrain Mustard with Orange. We initially created it to accompany steak or burgers but found it works just as well with pork chicken cheese and almost anything else. Its quite a sweet mustard but still with a lovely after bite from the brown mustard seeds. We entered it in the 2010 North West Fine Food Awards and although we didn't win we got this great feedback.

    Our herb and spice sea salts are beginning to convert a lot of our customers with the simple but effective ways they can be used either before, during or after cooking.

We also supply our entire range in 1kg catering tubs which are very popular with good cafes, restaurants and hotels. For special orders, we can now also provide 3kg catering buckets.
